The chart below, provided by our instructor, David Manoukian, helps illustrate how to trade the futures with minimal indicators. Having just recently started trading the Futures actively, I'm excited about the action, leverage through increased margin and minimal account size required... compared to that required for trading stocks.  Don't get me wrong, you can still lose money; however Futures Trading Software is fantastically fast.  What I've wanted to do for a while, I am now able to do with available software.

Examine the chart:  Note the dotted lines at the top and bottom

Those dotted lines represent floor trader pivot lines, indicating support and resistance, which you may have heard about in prior DTU$A presentations.  Except for two minor breach points, the Futures traded between (above) the pivot (red dots) and (below) 1st support... but remember: 1st support was a very long distance on 5/17/02 because of the wide range bar of the prior day's trading.

This trading range day was broad:  from the low of 1283 to the high of 1354 -- 71 points.  Note how the line acts as a reversal point except when major volume pushes it right on through the barrier.  My chart also includes Bollinger bands to further indicate whether the run is over extended in one direction or the other.

The Ninja has previously presented excellent lessons on Trading the Futures. You may listen to his recorded webcasts on the WWT site. Trading the Futures is superior to investing tiresome hours in scanning for stock setups every day.

Futures trading software is very fast:  you can get out in a second when you find yourself on the wrong side of the trade.  Also, when you see the trade going against you, in lieu of exiting, you can simply switch from long to short by doubling the contract size.  In other words, imagine trading one long contract.  Should this contract suddenly move against you,  just place a trade for two contracts to sell.  This action nets you one contract short enabling you to smoothly and rapidly trade both directions of the market... just like the professionals on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Now take note:  Trading futures is high risk and, even though electronic trading commissions are low, active trading can burn up some commissions and fees... so take it slow.

Course Description:  David Manoukian's previous presentation at a WorldWideTraders meeting in April was outstanding. Because it was so good, many DTU$A members requested a full day course to learn more on his approach to trading the S&P and Nas 100 eMini Futures contracts.  He will expand on many of the topics covered in that two hour presentation, but at a much slower pace and in more detail.

Topics include:

·        Candlestick charting,

·        Chart pattern recognition using price action & minimum indicators,

·        Support & resistance,

·        Watching NQ charts while trading the S&P;

·        Learning to be always one step ahead of the market,

·        Adapting to the market,

·        Watching multiple charts to identify entries and exits,

·        Things to avoid while trading,

·        Money and emotion management,

·        Review of charts.

·        Demonstration of the PAT Automated Futures Trading System.

Who should attend this course?

This full day course will be a hands-on learning opportunity to develop a methodology and form a solid foundation to actively trade the S&P and Nas eMinis.

David will make himself available post course to answer your questions.
